Happy New Year! (almost!)
December 30, 2013
Hello everyone, and happy almost new
year! Well, this was a very fun Christmas, especially getting to talk to my family via Skype! It was great to see all of you, and especially fun to see Heather and Clay and the neices and nephew from Bolivia, skyping to California, skyping to Arizona. Loved it! :)
We passed our Christmas well, visiting lots of menos activos with a Christmas message and note - lots of fun. These past few days have been pretty crazy, between Christmas and New Year's, and now we have cambios tomorrow, so we'll see what happens. The leaders are going to call us tonight to let us know where we're going. Presidente Willard told me a few days ago that I was almost 100% sure to be leaving Braniff, so we'll see what happens! I'm going to miss this ward a LOT, and I'm also going to miss Hermana Lopez a lot. It has been such an incredible journey to get to see her grow and change and find her way to loving the mission despite a lot of trials, and it has been wonderful to spend this time in Braniff. I LOVE these people and this ward in a way I can't exactly explain. We got to visit Naireth yesterday again and she is excitedly preparing for her baptism. We keep having to put it off week after week for various reasons, but we FINALLY settled on January 11, when her uncle, who is active in the church, will be here from Spain and will be able to baptize her. She has been a miracle, as we've watched her go from shy and very troubled by past mistakes, and seen her open up to us and feel hope through the message of Christ's Atonement. I'm sad that I probably won't be in Braniff for her baptism, but I'm grateful to have been an instrument in the Lord's hand to help her change.
Well, I really don't have much time today. The mission leaders just called and told us we have to find a new house because they are going to open a second area for hermanas here in Braniff, TOMORROW. So we've got to frantically look for a house today. Haha what stress... but that's okay! With the Lord, we'll figure everything out.
Love you all! Have a great New Year and make lots of goals for the year to keep progressing ever closer to Christ!
Love,
Hermana Chelsie Faulk
